EcoFlight.net training uses an FAA certfied CAT-2 BATD (Basic Aviation Training Device) system from Precision Flight Controls to the maximum extent possible, i.e:
- Up to 10 hours of training as part of the 40-hour experience requirements for obtaining an instrument rating
- 3 hours of instrument training towards the Commercial and Private Pilot certificates
- To log approaches, holding patterns and tracking of navigational aids to maintain IFR currency (ability to file an IFR flight plan and accept an IFR clearance under less-than Visual Meterological Conditions minimums)
- To perform part or all of an Instrument Proficiency check.
