FAA Instrument Rating Course

Requirements

- Written exam preparationL

a. 3-day intensive theory starter course

b. home study with included software

c. official computer- testing sessions in a PSI testing center

Experience and training required for practical test

Hold at least a private pilot license, including:

- 50 hours of cross-country flights (> 50 NM in a straight line) PIC time.

- 40 hours instrument flight training (actual IMC or simulated / under hood) of which 20 hours may be performed under CFI-I supervision on a Redbird FMX AATD.

- Have logged at least one cross-country IFR flight longer than 250 NM with instrument approaches at each airport.
